unstable/fluxuating timing

so i decided to start driving my S13 again and i been trying to fix everything one at a time. I seem to have a problem with my motor. I'm having problems with it breakin up with some load. The timing seems to fluctuate and not stable. The CAS is aligned correctly. Could this be part of my problem with my motor breaking up? Also i noticed it seems to hesitate more and run shittier when its cold, and runs much better and break up alot less when its hot. I dunno if this is related with the timing issue or if the timing issue is caused by this factor. This leads me to believe one of the temp sensors could be bad... how many temp sensors are there on the motor?

im having a very similar problem i couldnt figure it out so i asked my mechanic he seems to think its a fuel issue ie FPR,pump and maybe since my timing chain needs done that could also be part of my problem let me know what works for yours and ill do likewise with mine

are all the bolts holding the distributor still tight?
