is there a way of telling the difference between the 26mm and 30mm brake calipers?

I would consider that a downgrade, but why not? You can make adaptor plates and make it fit.

Fronts bolt right up. You will need the hardware though, the Z33 uses a 14mm hole in the spindle vs. 12mm for the Z32.

The stock 350z/g35 brakes use a larger rotor than the z32 and have a bigger caliper than the q45. So yes it would would a downgrade.

So let me get this straight... the 26mm's and the 30mm's CAN or CAN NOT use the same pads?

Internet vendors lack of information made me wonder.

Same pads, only difference is thickness of rotor. I'm running them now on my car.

They weigh less. The Z33 is a dual piston sliding caliper, made of iron. It's a really big, heavy version of an Schassis front caliper. Which means the sliding pins can seize up too.
