| Leaky Injector ![]() | W2B: lowering springs or coilovers! Hey zilvians. Im looking for a set of some inexpensive s13 coilovers or lowering springs + struts combo in NorCal bay area. | Zilvia Junkie ![]() | Shocks and springs are okay, and Id use them again if I was in a position where I couldnt afford coilovers for a year or more. I rode on KYB AGX's on my s14 for two years, and finally upgraded to BC Coilovers. I also have D2 coilovers on my subaru. There is absolutely no comparison between coilovers and struts/springs. Struts and springs are MUCH noisier, and if youre low, the ride blows donkey cock. Coilovers let you be low without HATING the ride. Granted, there are plenty of people out there that will say struts and springs are fine... but given the option, why would you ever choose them over coilovers? I paid $350 for my KYB AGX setup, and I paid $750 for almost brand new BC Coils. It is WELL WORTH the wait to save up and get real coilovers. As for what kind... you cant really go wrong with anything over $750 unless youre looking to make a real race car. BC, D2, Apexi, Tein, Stance etc etc. I personally HATE megan racing, so I recommend against them. But thats just my opinion. If youre looking to go super low, get Powered By Max coils. Personally, I set the bar at $1000 max, and DID NOT want megans. That still gives you plenty of options in the $800-1000 range. Among those coilovers, just pick whatever you can find the best deal on. |
