Introducing Crab Drifting EVENTS!!!!! - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

Hey everyone! We are proud to present Crab Drifting. We will start having more events in Northern and Southern California!! These will be practice AND competition events.

Drifting competition for Advanced,
Intermediate, Beginner and Front Wheel
Drive/4WD Cars.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies and prizes for each class
Prizes:
Advanced Class: $1000 in prizes
Intermediate Class: $750 in prizes
Beginner Class: $500 in prizes
Front Wheel Drive/4WD: $750 in prizes

July 3rd – Practice Runs and Round 1 Competitions (12 Drifters
from each Class will advance to Round 2)
The drifters will be judged on 3 runs during Round 1.

July 4th - Practice Run and Round 2 ~ 4 Competition.

Maximum Entries: 100 (25/Class)

Registration Deadline: Paypal: July 2nd, 2004
Money Order: June 25th, 2004

Registration Fee: $120 for full event

Spectator Fee: $15/Day $25 for both days (online special)

Free Parking!!!

Judges:
Calvin Wan (US D1 Driver)
Todd Ho (NCDA Organizer)
Tsutomu Maehara (Crab Drifting Organizer)

Announcer: Dan Piña (SCCA Pro Rally Driver)

Drift scoring will be based on Speed, Angle and Line.
The drifters will be judged on 3 runs during Round 1.
Drifters will be given 3 practice runs prior to the competition.

i guess the location is Altamont Raceway? woohoo! more drifting! i'm not to happy about the FWD class tho, IMO, that's not drifting at all, but whatever.

Quick Q, did you get the Crab thing from the Crab Spirits drift team or just some random though. Just asking cuz thats one of my friends names on the board.

Crab Drifting was made up by my friend that is not on any forums so he wouldn't know or ever seen the team name. No afiliation(sp?).

Crab Drifting is just the name of the event/company. Its NOT a drifting team but just a name that he happend to think of. Sorry if you guys thought it had to do with Crab Sprints drift team. Didnt know there was such name.

Anyways yeah, keep me posted Scott. Cant wait to see your car when its "done".

dunno about events...but it looks like there will be practice runs before the competitions each day...

So are you guys only running on the oval? Or is something going to be laid out with cones in addition? I can't find a great track map, just http://www.altamontraceway.com/track/skyview.htm and it looks just like a lot of left turns.

Crabdrifting is CANCELED due to another event(freedom drift) is having on the same weekend at Altamont Raceway. The 2 people that signed up will get their money back. We're sorry for the misunderstanding and any confusion that we have caused.

No age does not matter! what matter is to get to the trueth. I understand you are just doing what ever Crabdrifting tells you to do and it is not your fault all this confusion is going on. the organizer of crab drifting isnt even on this forum. It seems as though the contract was in the works and Altamont was lagging on it and they just gave him notice that the track was rented out already.

And stop trying to give crabdrifting a bad name(cant handle the competition?). wtf kind of immature bullshit is that. there was a mistake made it's not fair for you to put crabdrifting down because of a few words exchanged with ootranceformeroo who isnt even the organizer of crabdrifting. and also props for settling in person. I'm sure glad you guys took the opportunity to talk it over while you were both @ Altamont last sunday as a certain someone came through as a guest instructor.
