No there different caliper from the Evo/STI. I believe the R34 is F50 series caliper. I forget the what the other ones are. I forget what STI and EVO's were. The 350z one is different from all the other brembo kits that they had on the skylines. Brembo makes different kits for different manufactures. Nissan has 4 different ones for OEM non-tuned cars. I don't really know how many kit there are for different manufactures.

You're stil right but just to clear this up a bit EVO calipers & sti calipers are found on the 456 GT Ferrari F50's are found on the F40 and F50 but they have some ridge bumps at the top side of the caliper. Also the bolt hole locations are different from the R34 and the F50 calipers.

| Zilvia Member ![]() | Guys, If you want "Light weight" Brembo caliper i have some options for you : Merceds-Benz AMG E55 (6 piston front and 4 rear) Jaguer XJR 2007+ (The Same) MB AMG S63 (8 Piston Front And 4 Rear) ![]() So I Don't Think The Caliper's weight will harm you...get 2-piece Rotor and you will save a ton of weight Stock EVO Brembo Rotor = ~18Lbs Brembo 2-piece Rotor = 11Lbs Thats 7 Lbs PER Corner... Happy, ![]() Ali

| Zilvia Addict ![]() | Those AMG and Jag brakes are great but who makes brake pads for them?... or OEM only?... I need race pads and currently run Hawk Blues or Carbotech XP10s... I'm going to make my own adapters for the EVO calipers and I don't think I'll be able to "out race" them at all... Point of diminishing returns for the race track... But for the show circuit I get it...

Oh And On The Track You Need Suspension - Tires - Brakes....Miss one = Fail <-- happend to me last week @ the track...Full EVO Brakes With "Race" Pads And Hankook S1 EVO Tires And STOCK-Repet-STOCK Suspension.... Results are : 2x Front Wrapped Rotors (Front). Failed to make any decent Time. humiliated my self.... .On the got side i 've got New-ish rotors with less then 2k miles on them.. http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...g?t=1226689475 Will post pix and detailes of the rear setup somwhere in the next week or two... It's a simple equation that takes into account: 1. HP of the car 2. weight of the car 3. track layout 4. time on the track 5. tires 6. driving style (most important) ALL BRAKES WILL LOCK THE TIRES IF YOU PUSH ON THEM HARD ENOUGH... Big or small... The difference is how much brake modulation you have and how much heat the rotors and the fluid can withstand... My old setup was stock brakes with race pads... They had no problem locking the fronts... The downside of the small brakes is that it's like an on/off switch when threshold braking(braking at the limit of traction)... Larger brake setups will give me more of a progressive feel as well as better "rate" of braking... The other limitation is the front tires where I was running 245 street tires in the front but now I'm going to run 255 R compound tires... The larger the tire and softer the compound, the greater need for the larger brake modulation... But make no mistake, my old stock setup would be able to lock up the fronts with 255 R compound tires as well... Track layout and HP affect how fast you will accelerate through the course and therefore need the brakes... With 155WHP, I was able to accelerate up to about 115MPH at the fastest section of Buttonwillow Raceway... With 300WHP I expect to raise that by at least 15MPH more so hence the brakes will feel it... Track layout is pretty simple to understand in that a smaller course will yield slower peak speeds but fast courses like California Speedway where you are at top speed is the opposite... Last I want to say is driving style... That's why your rotors are warping... I always like to use the engine to brake the car tandem with the brakes for the purpose of saving the pads/rotors but also to keep the momentum of the engine up for corner exit... A lot of people make the mistake of learning how to drive on a high HP car and end up just looking for places to accelerate and brake instead of crusing through the course with finesse... It's a good idea to minimize the amount you use your brakes unless you are running a timed Time Attack lap where the car only needs to prove itself for 3 laps... Notice how Endurance drivers budget their brakes and Time Attack drivers just use as much as they can... I have videos of both driving my car... Evo/Sti Brembos are perfect for us... Any bigger is not going to yield you any better braking... And if you can find the limit of Brembos with race pads, you are a pretty damn good driver... Here is my buddy driving the Evasive Evo with stock brakes and Carbotech pads... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HxUtTZ3gEs
