SR Tranny Issue

K im starting to get hella paranoid bout this. My tranny/shifter would vibrate like nuts when i get to round 90mph. It kinda went away after i changed tranny fluid, but now its back, not as bad as before but its back. well last nite all of a sudden im driving home, cruising bout 75-80 mph when all of a sudden the whirring noise that you usually hear from the tranny kinda got louder, loud enough that i can hear it with my sunroof open and music playing. It also got this sound like a freakin heatshield is loose or something. I double checked everything that i can today and didnt see anything. Tranny bolts are all there, tranny fluids not leaking, mount bolts are all there...any suggestion? Tranny shifts smooth and everything, theres the usual metal shavings on the tranny drain plug when i changed fluid.

Do you by any chance have a solid diveshaft instead of the OEM one? That can cause vibations when you reach to a certain speed on the highway. If it's not that did you check the tranny fluid level. There is a check plug on the side of the tranny that it's supposed to be filled to that point. Make sure you have enough fluid in there.

Running OEM one, fluid should be koo, a bit over filled if that since i filled it 3 full qts from the shifter instead of the side filler. I know the capacity\'s only 2.5 qts if that and i filled it with 75-90 Redline.

Have you had the driveshaft off? If so, make sure the paint mark lines up with the diff, otherwise it's not very well balanced. Also check the torque on the driveshaft to diff bolts, and check for play in the carrier bearing.
