| Zilvia Member ![]() | Oil starvation will always occur on a wet sump and crazy driving. Once the oil creeps up off to one side or towards the rear of the sump when launching or cornering hard then the pick up goes dry. Proper windage and baffling is the fighter to those issues as well. Adding oil is a temp. remedy. Adding a cooler and lines allows more capacity. Only problem is that with more oil in the sump can cause the crank to slap oil and usually ends up in lost HP and slower revs. Its a pretty deep issue. But with normal use/ modest racing you shouldn't see problems which require the microscope to the nitty gritty. |

| Premium Member ![]() | I have some good ones from another forum. Easly, guys who have S30's are spending about any where from $2,500 for a shot motor canada and dropping another $10K in overhaul and rebuild with out tunning. clean motors are good to start with and the prices are a little higher just depends what are you going to be doing. example should I get an R32 GT-R. motor is comming out RB30E bottom end with .20 over lots of bottom end work R34 turbos , Single 90mm throttle body....... R34 Z-tune parts, HKS V-Cam set up but run the RB25DE neo head and mill/port grind and trim some items here and there. leave it looking stock 3.1 set up when Im done. run a HKS oil pump and an aftermarket oil cooler. that right there is $15,000 easly. even though prices are comming down on R32 motor but the owners who dont take care of them is going up and the quality of the used motors are going into the trash can. so you have to be careful what you get. R32 motor RB25DET transmission = $3800 R33 $4800 R34 red $5800 R34 Nur - most of them are just sold as long blocks $++++

| Premium Member ![]() | just as a heads up................................. you can use a Z32 transmission rear section and use the bell housing from the AWD transmission from the GT-R and you have a transmission set up for your Rb26 2wd set up.

| Leaky Injector | ok I searched throughout this RB FAQ and didn't find any definitive answers to my issue. I need to rebuild my 95 r33's rb25det transmission... I need to know part #'s or if there is a US transmission that has the same internals So I can can order syncro's from and rebuild my transmisison. I also searched google and couldn't find if the internals of the RB and anything in the US that are the same.

takeing it up anoter notch is using the SMG box from the E46 M3 but you will need to swap and modifiy the bellhousing + also figure out the computer for the SMG !

| Zilvia Member ![]() | I knew about the Z32 compatibility. Please explain what I would need to do to use the 6spd's you mentioned. I know the supra tt tranny's are way expensive, but I would imagine that the cobra r tranny is significantly less expensive. |

| Zilvia Member ![]() | So my understanding is that the input shaft that goes through the clutch is the same as the rb25/z32 and will accept the rb25 clutch? And then I would need to have a new driveshaft made and modify the tranny x-member? Then like you said, just modify (which I assume means just drilling new holes) the rb25 bellhousing to accept the new rear section? |

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | I read through the FAQs and have some questions of my own to help clear things up for me. Hopefully you guys can help. 1.) The Oil Pressure on the Lower KA harness is 1 wire (I believe), while the Lower RB harness is 2 wire. I read that you cut the KA and put it on the RB. Do you just splice the 2 wires into 1 and put it in? 2.) My RB starts up and has a high idle. When giving it throttle it seems like it is hitting a rev limiter. When I unhooked the MAF it was acting the same with the high idle. Could this be a bad MAF? 3.) I did not read anything that stated of lines that needed to be blocked because of them not being used. Anyone have any information or pictures? 4.) There is a big hose near the firewall on the intake side that needs to be clamped on somewhere but I have no idea where. It is a vaccum but I am not sure where it goes? Thanks.

| R32 and R33 yes as they are both push type. R34 6spd Getrag is the only transmission it will not work in due to it been a pull type. Learned this the hard way years ago when I got my first R32. Purchased a Nismo Coppermix from a reputable seller so I thought, turned out it was from a R34. Didn't get my money back and now have a gigantic doorstop. | |
