Got a cold air intake, and there is a sensor on the old stock air box. 1989 240sx coupe, what does it do? Do i need to keep it?

There are actually two sensors.. One is the mass airflow sensor, the other is the intake air temp sensor. I suggest keeping both.. However it is possible to do with the IAT sensor.

is the IAT sensor the one that was screwed onto the factory box???

The one that has two philips head screws diagonal from each other on the top of the intake box is the MAS.
