Exclamation S14 SR20 Swap Troubles - Engine Runs on!

So did a swap this weekend with help from a friend.
S14 Zenki SR20DE base car. Swapped in SR20DET from S14 1996 Kouki model.

We used the the later cars harness, all plugged in, engine fired up with no trouble but we seen one major trouble from the get go....

With key out of ignition we attached the battery terminal and instantly the lamps on the dash lite up as if the key was in the on position. We then put the key in the ignition, cranked and motor started up no problem. Running etc is all ok, no misfires etc.

And when we went to turn key off, the engine continued to run, again with dash lamps still in on position. Literally had to clutch stall the car to turn it off lol.

Any help our ideas would be appreciated. Im sure its ignition related but would be great to hear any info from anyone with similar problems.

I'm not sure how savvy you are with electrical but it does sound like you have a short to ground somewhere. If you can get your hands on a schematic for the ignition system it would help greatly. Start checking for the ignition switch and work your way down the line. The ecu may also be at fault, I've seen this before but not on a Nissan. Does the car have an alarm system on it?

Did you guys repin the harness to work with the zenki chassis? They're not exactly plug and play between zenki and kouki.

Short to ground noted.
No antitheft system. CPU is normal with HKS F-Con Vpro

Bit of wiring near the CPU had to be sorted but all is amost ok now. The only catch now is that when you turn the car off, all lamps on the dash turn off but the motor runs on for a further 3 seconds before turning off.

Got the car back to my yard, running ok, needs a bit of maintenance. Oil pump not super healthy and the lifters need re-bleeding and or replacing entirely. Very annoying to here them tapping around 3-4000 RPM at cruising speeds.

Should have re-used my drive shaft as the donor car unit is pretty sour, hanger bearing rattling like mad on decel. Would love aluminum unit for added lightness.
