Yeah I still like the old E11 and E8 personally.

The new Haltechs are great.

I really think the L Jetro haltech is a better option for sub 400 hp also. (than the D jetro).

Nistune for the budget
AEM and Motec for the ballers. don't get stuck in between and don't bother with the piggy backs

Lol. When I bought my car, it came with one of those and it was one of the first things to go...

I'm curious what some of the differences between AEM and the platinum Haltech's are. Those are the two I was deciding between and I just went with the Haltech since I happened to find one of those used before I found an AEM.
They're both plug and play and both around the same price so what's the big advantage to AEM that's gotten it all the extra votes? Just more people using it?

S@nt0s, perhaps you can chime in since you've used both. Mine is a platinum 1000 though, not a 2000.

There are a few features not on the 1000 that the 2000 has but all in all they are both next and neck with the aem it's a manner of which software you like more
I like the aem on my car but my dads 2000 is great too. I was going haltech but then got a sponsor deal on the AEM and went with that and I'm happy with it

I ended up with a Link G2 with G3 Firmware. I would not have purchased it outright, but I traded a $500 motorcycle for it, and some other stuff.

I built a custom wiring harness, and after some initial teething pains, it has been very good. It has outstanding tuneability, and endless features. Being a total newb in the standalone world, I was able to completely set it up by myself, and get the car running and driving. Its easy, yet holds great potential. So far I am impressed, and its a very old model, they are on the G4 + now.

I choose my ecu based on the quality/features of the ecu, the best available tuners and how much I got my ecu for. For $100, 4 32x32 maps and access to the best tuners I had to go with the HKS FCon VPro which is what I have

I thought tuners for that were really scarce outside of Japan? That's probably why you got it for the awesome price of $100.

Autronic standalone ecus are very easy to tune and have a tonn of features. Prices aren't motec level either, but one of their engineerds founded the company. It is currently the most popular standalone in Estonia

Haltech platinum FTW!!! The user interface within the software is leaps and bounds above AEM's EMS... I have both and currently use the AEM (I don't feel like wiring up the Haltech to my KA at the moment)..
