ka24de-t going pull to blow maf issue

sup yall lets start with my set up

93 ka in a 95 240sx
completely rebuilt to oem specs
t3/t4 turbo
sti 550cc
n60 maf( blow thru)
oem s14 maf(pull thru)
Sacf 2
retarded timing @15*
lc-1 WB
with 2in 5out on safc/ 4in5out sucks very slow throttle pick up

dont give me anything about using a SAFC its fine for what is does, matched with a WB i can see whats going on

ok heres the deal, i was running fine with pull thru maf and i been driving it like that for about 1k now but space is tight how it was. My intake pipe to my compressor was hitting my dizzy, my filter on the MAF was smashed in to fit, there was no room to recirculate my bov (bov on hot side.)I also hated the jumpy idle when coming to a stop, never stalled but just jumpy.

so since it was a holiday my local junk yard had a half off going on so i picked up a n60 wired it up np what so ever at idle, smother diving, amazing if u asked me. BUT.......

i feel as if i lost power, car used to have power @3.5k i would hit some what full boost(no boost gauge) and waste gate opens few rpm after just amazing power and then clutch would slip around 3.8k no mater what gear im in(need to upgrade)

now with blow thru on n60 maf i can get to 4.8k with out slipping and i feel as if the turbo not spooling fast enough and doesnt pull like it did till 5k, theres a big lag differents then it what it was before, im lost right now, how can a MAF placement change my power curves? I never heard or read about this issue and i looked.

Can anyone chime in on this? no boost leaks ether. im just lost, i want that power back, i cant go back since i already chopped my IC till i get another one, wont be awhile a bit late on bills

I'm assuming you busted out a wide band O2, and street tuned the car after the MAF install ?

I was always under the impression that it's not as simple to go blow thru, you don't just put the maf down stream. I'd think the maf would need to be a blow thru maf to begin with, and the ecu retuned to match the maf signal. Am I wrong ?
