| Zilvia Member ![]() | Car smells like gas/bad mpg. about 3-4 days ago my car started smelling like gas. i rarely smell it when im in the car. windows down or up. after having it parked for 2-3 hours in the garage it starts smelling like gas. it was coming from under the hood. the smell was near the intake manifold. i also get VERY bad mpg. it was about 5-7 mpg. i would pour 20$ and would only be able to get couple of miles. help please. |

If you're STILL having problems, you've got an injector problem, time to replace O-Rings OR the injectors themselves. |

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | check what the said above and since you said from the engine bay check the feed and and return line in the engine bay make sure when you buy a replacement hose that its a fuel line 5/8" and maybe a new gas cap

| my name is Nigel Bakerbutcher ![]() | If yours is frm the trunk, then it's either the gas tank/fuelpump gasket AND OR a cracked/leaking fuel line coming from the fuel pump, I'm 100% sure either of those will be the problem. Funny thing about this is that when I had my tank/pump gasket missing, I opened up the tank to see if it was there (which it wasn't), I pulled the pump out and sure enough the gasket was wrapped around the pump. |

| Zilvia Addict ![]() | I'm having similar issues, could an old fuel pressure regulator be to blame? I have replaced the fuel pump and the fuel filter, mabye I should look at injectors

| bukkakedrift420 ![]() | Most all of your problems are the soft line. In the front, it will be the one right under the fuel filter canister thing. these are cracked on half the old 240's you tech at the track. just reach under the canister thing and rub your hand along the bottom of the rubber line there. Bunch of moist dirt and crap on your hand huh? replace it. In the rear, its one of the 2 lines coming out of your fuel pump. you can get a look at most of it by looking at it from underneath with a flashlight. Or take the cover off and look at it from above. Its probably cracked where it hooks onto the fuel pump. Both are extremely common. The other problems are more rare.

1) Stop farting in your car 2) Ease off the gas. Just playing man.

Your fuel lines run from back-to-front on the passenger side, so you're leaking fuel from a bad hose/clamp. Worse case it's your injector seals. You need to start your car, have the front end lifted up, get under there with a flash light and look for the wet spot on the fuel lines. It shouldn't be hard to find if you're getting only 5-7 mpg, you've got a bad leak. As for the stuff that others mentioned for you replace, that's all fine and good for improving MPG, but not a leak. The only way your fuel filter is going to be the culprit is if it's been punctured somehow. (runaway screwdriver?) Also someone else mentioned fuel smell coming from inside the car, if this is the case, you've got a leaking fuel pump cover gasket, or it's improperly sealed. simple. Get to checking and save that Petrol! GL

| Zilvia Member ![]() | check under your car for gas leaks, mine leaked under where the gas tank was at, it was the fuel pump lines to the gas tank if i remember, and yea it smells of gas and bad gas mileage. look under the car if it leaves a puddle of gas or see if you can catch it dripping mine did!

If you have visible gas leaks, you shouldn't be driving that thing around.

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | I had a hard time trying to find metric sized fuel line, but the closest size I could find was 5/16th's ID. Personally I would try to keep the hoses I use to as close the diameter of the hardlines/filter as possible. |
