Stock Clutch (Both Sides & thickness), Stock Flywheel, and Stock Pressure Plate

Aftermarket Clutch (Both Sides and Thickness), corresponding Flywheel, and Aftermarket Pressure Plate

What I'm asking is: Is there anything wrong with this? I don't know if this is considered hot spots or glazed or not and my google skills don't help with identifying them.

need more of an angled/side shot to determin thickness of the clutches.

That flywheel need to be resurfaced

First of all, it does make sense to have a flywheel that was attached to an aftermarket clutch look worse than one that was on an oem clutch.

However, I am wondering why we are comparing two flywheels but only one flywheel is pictured.

regardless of that, i will try to answer what i think your question is. yes, your flywheel has spots on it from seeing some heat. no, your flywheel is not damaged beyond repair. any "glazing" that happens from overheating the clutch will wear off, so that is not something to worry about. what you do have to worry about is all the little spots. some guys will tell you that it is fine and to just throw it in and run it. you might be ok doing that. but in my experience those little "hot spots" become harder than the rest of the surface of the flywheel and can cause problems like shortening clutch life, chatter, and loss of grip. the best thing to do is take your flywheel to a local shop and have them resurface it. it usually only costs $30-$50 and is well worth it. you should get a brand new looking surface back, and they should only have to remove .010-.030" maybe a little more if its really toast, but it doesn't look that bad.

What about my aftermarket pressure plate? Is it okay? I have read around that machining a pressure plate could be dangerous (exploding drive train = no legs).

Man.. where is teh rep system when you need it? How about a dollar
