Stock ka24de constantly stuttering around 3k

My car is always stuttering around 3000rpm, most of the time its in every gear. Sometimes it won't occur, but like I said, the majority of time it does. Its usually a quick 1-2 second movement that shakes me back and forth! I changed the spark plugs. I'm thinking next maybe a compression test or injectors? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I was searching "stuttering," "ka problems," etc and couldn't find anyone with the same problem. I was reading about a fuel injector fixing a stutter problem someone had around 5k rpm... but no one with mine. THanks for the input. I'm going to keep looking into it

haha, yeah its pretty annoing huh? I put in new spark plugs and there was no stuttering for 2 days - then drift nirvana and back to stuttering again. Unfortunately, i go to school 2 hours away from my home so i'm not going to be able to do any work diagnosing the problem until i go back home over thanksgiving. Until then i figure why not get a bunch of reasonable suggestions that would possibly be relevant problems and their solutions and go from there.

Easy diagnostics for initial problem solving.

Your coil may be on the way out. Also check all the ground locations for good contact.

1000th post!

thx

s13 is single external coil and s14 are single internal coil (OBDII). No packs on KA engines unless ignition was modified.

You are looking for a solid blueish color spark with a white spark being okay. A yellow spark typically means the coils is not in optimum condition.

Just check the codes on your ECU.

i'm workin on the same problem. except mine hasn't done it in awhile. it seem to like the heat. i droped in a new set of NGK plugs. swaped MAF with my buddy's SR....i allready had a new walbro installed when i did the swap and hard wired it....i havn't checked the color of the spark but, i have swap my coils around to see if there was a change...none! if i come up with something i'll be sure to hit this thread with it..

Thanks a lot man. Yeah I just finished checking the ecu for codes. All three times at first it would shoot 34 but right after that it would keep shooting 55 and never go back to 34....55 means no faults...dang. My coils look good and I just replaced the spark plugs with ngk a month ago. I'm thinking it it is probably fuel related. I cleaned out my maf sensor this weekend and it was hardly stuttering and I thought the problem went away. Now it is slowly getting gettting back to stuttering under throttle. As well, I will try to keep this thread updated as I work to find the problem
