Setting SR timing since it was used to japan fuel and is now on 91.

I have been curious about this for some time now ive looked around but have not found anything about what the timing should be set to on the sr when its running on 91 octane. Since it came from japan and has been used to their fuel and the timing is set up for that (im assuming) then im afraid of it knocking or detonating on our fuel here.

What is the timing supposed to be set to when running 91 octane fuel?

This seriously had to of been covered before maybe im just too tired.

What is japan gas? Never new they had a different type of fuel source, that makes the car run different. Well heres something to read if you didnt know already...also my friend think about what u just typed long and hard and the answer will show itself. i cant stop laughing im sorry this is too funny. "Normal is 15 but what is it on 91 octane," hahaha.

What i meant by that statement is in JAPAN you set it to 15 for their fuel. Our premium fuel in the US is lower than their lowest octane fuel there. That is what raised concern.

RON Octane Rating x 0.95 = AKI Octane Rating(US Measurement)

95.5 RON Octane x 0.95 = 91 AKI Octane
98 RON Octane x 0.95 = 93.1 AKI Octane
100 RON Octane x 0.95 = 95 AKI Octane

As long as you have an upgraded fuel pump, which is requirement for US SR Swap then you should have correct AFRs with OEM Nissan ECU

15 BDTC is the correct base timing for ignition for SR, end of story! /thread
