Sensor Question

ok on a DOHC Ka24 radiator when u look down to the lower radiator hose there is a sensor there what is that for i need help been trouble shooting an over heating problem all day and im starting to think maybe it has to do with what ever that is please lmk thx

huh? is it in the hose? lol... i dont think a sensor is gonna cause you to overheat... maybe get a new thermostat, clean the cooling system, new water pump?

i did both of those already today those were the first ones i went to after draining nd flushing and bleeding the system again otha other thing i could think of was the ECT fans or that senor thing nd its inbetween the hose so u see the bottom hose theres idk what to call it a pipe w/ a senor conected to it nd then another hose ill take a pic nd post it up if i dnt get an answer tonite

That sounds like an aftermarket coolant temp sensor, for a gauge. Does not have anything to do with the ECU's coolant temp sensor or the factory gauge sensor, both of which are in the upper water neck.

There is an inline sensor on SOHC cars that triggers the electric fan. Not found on DOHCs unless it was swapped or rigged in for some reason.

this man speaks the truth.

ive fitted these onto a handful of sr swapped cars as a nice trigger for a cooling fan relay.
