so i've got this problem. i have a 95 twin cam in a 89. well ever since i swapped in the motor the check engine light has been on. everything was installed senors and everything. long story short now i got this ref ticket for modified smog so they have to run a smog test and the light is on.
but the light dims down go away and lights back up like playing peek a boo when you press the gas and stuff. and only on idle if you rev above 2500 rpm it completly turns off until it goes under the 2500 rev.

so does anyone have any idea or has been through this?
maybe the mafs? tps? lmk thanks for all the help

Probably wanna try and get the code first, help in process of elimination. I never had a code correct itself btw..always stayed until the problem was corrected and ecu reset

Take out the bulb for the check engine light.

haha yeah but for the test the light need to turn on then off..
i did put it on the scaner and there no code on the lead so wtf..

Not as a permenant fix, but to pass the test you can just "splice" the cel bulb.

but if i do that will the light go on and off like its suposed to? also im not to sure what u want me to splice it with let me know a bit more of detail thanks.

btw im not looking for a fix i just want it to pass and im pulling out the whole harness and ecu and slap on a turbo set up

its been so long i forgot but i have another question.. when u start your car s13 does the check engine light go on for a bit first then turn off?

also let me ask you does it stay on for as long as the oil?
bc i was thinking of splicing it into the oil light
