s14 SR idle drops every 2mins? bad stock bov?

I just got my S14 SR motor running. The motor is running with stock IC piping (s15 core) and stock bov. Besides I know the lifters making little tapping sound and needed to be prime again. I have following questions:

1. I've tried to adjust the TBS and IVAC, however, the idle keeps on having 2 min idel dropping. It persists for about 5 seconds and goes back to normal.

The TBS is within spec, and IVAC does not much help. I've found no leak in the stock IC pipings. And ideas? Maybe my stock recirculated bov?

2. An experienced friend who knows about SR motor, he said that my stock bov might be bad because it makes no sound. Is it true? Isn't it not suppose to make any sound?

3. I have a kouki s14 and I have yet to find diagrams to hook up the gas tank vacuum line (pressure release). Will the car idle better with it hooked up?

4. The motor has all emission stuff removed, and it smells bad inside the engine bay. Is this normal? Do I have a leak between manifold to turbo or turbo to dp? (the bad gas makes my eyes wet and difficult to breath inside the garage)

Thanks!

Not sure that it should smell bad, check for vacuum leaks everywhere around the manifold, Also I have heard stock bovs make noise so maybe it could be that.

Anyone? I just got my Defi gauges set up today, and something weird happened.

The Defi control unit would beep when you turn the key to ignition and the gauge would does the self test thing. And the beep would stop as soon as I fire up the engine. However, during that 5 second of rough idling, it beeps! Is it not recieving ignition signal?

The engine runs fine when I'm driving, the boost gauge reads steady 11.5 psi (80kpa). And when idling, the vacuum goes to 70~80kpa as well. (almost touching the bottom of the reading).

The exhaust gas temperature reads at 6~800 F(IIRC) and goes no further than 12 when I'm on full boost. The EGT sensor is mounted on dp btw. It at the portion right next to the turbo.

Hope to get some helps!!
