transmission screws and springs ??

wierd problem :

when i was taking out my shifter (short shifter) to install a new bushing on the bottom of the shifter where it goes into the tranny,as i was pulling out the shifter i noticed (2) springs about 1/2" long and (2) screws (about 1/4" long star head) poped out with the shifter. i dont know where they came from. They were covered in tranny fluid as well.

now the shifter feels sloopy and it some times comes out of the shifter gate. also its hard to get it into the gears like the gates are off or something ..

any clue where these two screws and springs came from? and how do i go about putting them back in!

help please

btw tranny is a ka24de 96+
