Man me and my friends have been talking about that exact setup for about 3 years now, we just dont have the resources to pull it off. Its really good to see that theres till some innovative minds out there with the patience to pull it off.

+1 from me

Khmerguy618 had a supercharger setup that he ran for a while.

Probably will post up pics and info soon.

If not I will.

I started to do a mild port job on the head tonight (cleaning up the ports and casting marks , gasket matching) before the head joins the block at the machine shop.

weisco 9:1 std bore
rings
Nissan OEM main and rod bearings on order .
picks tommorrow when i finish porting the head.

I also expected more torque than horsepower . I wish I dyno'd the stock motor to have a base line to go buy . New engine should be in by next weekend , and my friend is going to do a before and after on his S13 in the coming weeks with a similar set up.

I was on Ka-t.org a little bit ago and no one could ever remember seeing a dyno sheet at 300whp for a s/c ka, but i thought that would be sick! i have always been intrested in s/c my car but without seeing further proof of 300+ capabilities it really turned me off. Theres not a doubt in my mind that with a mild port job, pistons and some 248's you could reach that.... and if so that means that i'll be making plans for my car come december, even though my own car hasnt even hit the streets yet this summer lol. Why did you choose to use the q45 tb instead of the n60 that i see alot of people running? or is it basically the same? also if your going to cnc would you be making a smaller pulley as well? the only puleys i can find are all aluminum and i would much rather use one with a steel main sleeve and maybe and interchangeable outer pulley?

At this time we're still in the prototype stage. During this first run of CNC parts were trying to finalize the design as bullet proof as possible while keeping it cost effective . Due to the intricate detail in the CNC file, the cost of the CNC running time can be rather costly. With that being said, were trying to find a more cost competitive shop because CNC time for these parts are costly, because more time in the machine = more money. When, and if, the product is finished we will then determine if it'll be cost effective enough to try producing the parts in limited quantities.

Sorry this is not the answer you probably wanted but if i quoted you a price now I'd be lying to you and myself. Right now there is just too many variables that are unknown and nothing is solid yet . We don't have finalized machining times and material prices based on volume. Pricing TBA when we know all the details. Feel free to check back in 2-3 weeks and hopefully well have more info on the details.
That's enough of an answer to have my subscription to this thread.

We started this in Nov, of 2008 every thing is cnc'd from 6061 T6 aluminum except the alternator/tensioner bracket which is made of 7075 T6 because of some Solid Works FEA testing. By using the 7075 T6 the alternator/tensioner bracket is 13 times stronger than needed. We came up with our own mounting and brackets for this set up based upon some modeling/CAD we did in Solid Works.

As far as pricing there are to many unknown variables to date , but were are hoping to be more affordable than Thomas Knights kit.

As for as us producing pulleys , at this moment we don't have the capabilitiesor contacts that has a CNC lathe to make our own pulleys.

The reason behind the Q45 TB and Q45 MAF , is to free up inlet restrictions . On a supercharged set up your drawing air through the intake piping not forcing it through like a turbo set up . Imagine trying to breath with a coffee straw , then breathing through a 7/11 Slurpee straw . By using these parts we gained 2-3 psi with out swapping the pulley.

That's a pretty awesome setup you've got there and props for the Solid Works skills; Life is better with Inventer though . One thing I wonder about is why haven't we seen centrifugal units yet. Typical excuse might be that they are all too large but Rotrex makes them quite small and with lower HP consumption through the belt system than your typical rotory lobe or screw type....

If you are looking for some CNC help, I can quote you 3 axis work.
