Removing the Vent Canister on the rear of your S14

I don't know if an s13 has an emmisions vent can at the rear, i'll safely assume it does. I want to remove this with no possibility of it backfiring on me say (fire) for instance.

I have this line in my engine bay that runs back to the vent can that used to get vacuum from the EGR on the KA, now that I have an SR20 and no black can, there is no reason for that line to come into my engine bay.

I will post pictures, of the whole process and whats needed, but I would love some advice. Searching for any posts related to this as I hit submit.

here's one thread.
EVAP removal! NEED HELP

I just pulled the hose and left the hard line. I haven't investigated where it leads but to my understanding its the way Nissan chose to evacuate the fumes from the tank... I'd like to follow along...

I just don't want gas vapor building up in my engine bay. Is my point!

I believe you can cut the hard line from the tank and just run some rubber hose into a frame rail. Think that's how older cars are setup anyway.

yeah from the looks of it, there really is no way to remove the hard line without dropping the tank, so if I cut the hard line right above the gas tank it or mid rail, I can prevent water from going into the line because it will still be pointing down.

sweet.

charcoal box - vent canister same thing?

so removal of the hardline and rubber hoses plus the rear box won't affect what exactly?

OBD I cars have the can in the front. The hardline comes right from the tank.

OBD II cars have the Can in the rear. The hard line goes to a solenoid on the can.

Do you have a 95 or 96+?

I have the can in the back (no homo) but I took the car off of the stands, I don't have anything to cut the hardline and you gotta drop the tank to get that damn line out. w/o cutting it.

No you don't. There shouldn't be any gasses coming up if you have the rear tank. Rubber soft line goes from the tank to the box. Rubber line goes from the box to the hardline in the wheel well.

To remove:
Behind the passenger side wheel is the Box.
Unbolt it and let it hang.
Unplug the 3 connectors and feed them back into the trunk.
Pull the rubber hose off the hardline and cut the rubber line off from the tank.

Not the one by the rear bumper unless they actually get under your car and check that too.
