right in front of the rear wheels... in between the two slits where the pannels come together... maybe 6-8 inches from the wheel well

I wouldn't use that rocker panel. I always place it under the subframe or even the tow hook.

You can get jack stands that have a slot in the center for the pinch weld.

Hard to see cause they are white.

The S13 FSM states the only place for jack stands is the framerails/sidemembers front and rear.

interesting tid bits from the mfg....

i was tripping out looking at the s14 guidelines thinking to myself "am i this stupid, i could've sworn the frame rails were ok??"

then i realized that the directions are different for s13! i dont think it matters. my s13's framerails are pretty beatup but i've noticed that the center sections are the weak parts. if you use the front or rear most sections of the frame rails, they are fine and do not collapse. also, the car should only be lifted from the diff or crossmember, thats it.

i've got my car hovering on all fours for months now on the frame rails. it would be cool if someone posts a link to that special fancy shmancy adaptor for the jackstand to secure the seam rail.. that would be interesting.

Northern used to sell a beam adapter for floor jacks that fit in the saddle of a regular floor jack but had two adjustable arms to pick up on the rails or other points. Much like a lift does, but in a smaller version. They don't carry it anymore and I've yet to find anyone else who does, but that would be ideal to spread the load out or when doing a diff/subframe drop.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but i was wondering whats the best way to leave me car on all 4 jackstands for a long time. Since i have no engine, no transmission no crossmember in the car what i did was installed the 4 transmission crossmember bolts back into the car, and put two jackstands under those bolts, is that a bad idea?

Yes.

Place the rear stands on the forward points of the subframe. Place the fronts either on the crossmember where the LCA mounts, or on the rails just as it rolls down from the firewall, it's double metal there.

on my s14 i have had it on jack stands for about 3 weeks now and the rear are on the rlca and the fronts are on the flca(bolt that runs thru it to the frome subframe) been fine idk if thats right but i been doing it for years and not had 1 problem.... its very sturdy to... i dont want to ding/dent my frame rails or anythingthing else on the chassis...

hmmmmm, i'm gonna go ahead and put it on the front part of the frame rails than. I wonder why there are not solid points on the front of the car like there are on the rear to place jackstands. I was always skeptical on leaving my car on frame rails, but i didnt know they were stronger in the front.

Edit: theres not much options on jack stand points when not having a crossmember or anything bolted up. haha.
