auto to five speed cel 111

auto to five speed on obd2 s14

swapped ecus auto to 97 manual

swapped the s14 vss because there was a cel about the vss 14

no cel driving for 10 miles

new cel comes up that says cel 1-11 or 1 and 11 which says inhibitor switch

any thoughts?

would anyone know if the inhibitor switch from an AT can also be related to the neutral position switch or safety? lol

i just reswitched the vss wires because i didnt know which was which lol, resetted the ecu, and drove it for i think 7 miles but it didnt show up.

i went to a smog station because the cel didnt come up while on the freeway so i decided to try it out anyway and i still failed

here's what they gave me:

A big number that said 725 and it has a rpm meter looking thing that says 300-5,000

Vehicle Status:
Vehicle OK
Number of DTC's 0
MIL OFF
VIN ------

Continuous Monitor Test
Misfire Complete
Fuel System Complete
Comprehensive Component Complete
Catalyst Not Complete
Heated Catalyst Not Supported
Evaporative System Not Complete
Secondary Air System Not Supported
A/C Sys Refrigerant (wow sounds nice lol) Not Supported
Oxygen Sensor Not Complete
Oxygen Sensor Heater Complete
EGR System Not Complete

My last smog check with the same station said I would have passed with flying colors if it wasn't for my check engine light. For those that don't know what happened, I did a Auto to Manual ECU Swap before the test but with a s13 VSS. What the s13 VSS did was make the car bog or safe mode because the speedometer read at 120mph even though I was only going 60 but I still went to the smog station because I was already there and so they gave me an EGR code with the EVap cans.

After that catastrophe I cut the s13 VSS wire, but didn't take the sensor out and I didn't have a safe mode problem anymore but my new CEL read 14 = VSS. A few weeks later I put in a s14 VSS and I didn't have a safe mode problem either but my mileage counter was reading stupid fast (my local mall to my local community college which read 15 miles but its only like 3-4 miles away) and i got another CEL 111 which is the inhibitor switch but doesn't make sense cause my car starts. Also what's kind of funny is that my idle doesn't die anymore when I put in my S14 VSS. Cool huh? lol.

What I'll do now is I'll drive it around my neighborhood and see if a CEL comes up again, but if not I don't know... You think I resetted my ECU too much? I've probably reset the ecu like 20 times. Man when I went to the smog station today, it felt like only 5 minutes. When I had my last smog check, it took like 15 minutes.

if i remember correctly, the guy didn't even pop my hood during those 5 fuckin minutes.

Yes, the M/T has a neutral switch. Not having that hooked up will throw a code. I just ran the signal wire to a switch that hangs under my dash. Run the other half of the circuit to a ground.

I just switch it a couple times after I start the engine and I don't get a CEL. As for your monitors, you needed to drive it in some stop and go traffic some more.

The ECU shouldn't care how many times you've reset it. If you reset it right before you go to the SMOG station that's no good because the ECU reset also resets the continuous monitors.

About this trip to the SMOG station being quick, you failed before you got to the sniffer test, so the guy didn't bother doing it. Again that's the continuous monitors that did you in.

you mean this switch?
http://www.ka24development.com/cwilf...lectrical.html

i've already did that a long time ago when i swapped my auto to manual ecu.

but maybe your right, if the cel goes off again the next time i drive it i'll recheck the whole thing. maybe i have a faulty neutral position switch.

about that continuous monitor shit, man i didn't even know. oh well, if the cel doesn't go off (i hope it doesn't) i'll get another smog check.
