New Fuel Pump - No Throttle Response

Got an '89 240 w/ a red top sr20. Installed a Walbro 255 Fuel Pump recently and everything ran fine for a few days. Until today. Was driving down the highway and all of a sudden I wasn't getting any throttle response (engine was still running though). I pulled over and put it into first and started going again and I got throttle response back until about 2.5K RPMs and then it dies off. Gear selection doesn't matter, I can get to 2.5k and shift to 2nd or any other gear respectively and as long as i'm below 2.5k RPM's I still have throttle response. It's when I go over that point where there's nothing.

This problem is still persisting where the car won't get any throttle response past 2.5K RPMs. It idles ok but it sometimes dips down a little (a problem that began the same time this throttle response began).

It seems obvious it must be a problem with the pump. Would a faulty connection cause the pump to stop sending fuel after a certain point (i.e. 2.5K RPM)? I'm guessing there isn't a solid connection when I tried crimping the wires. I've also read that it could be my MAF.

Any ideas?

Thanks! It was the MAF - I was on some bumpy highways so it must've shaken it out. I put it back in and secured it with duct tape so I shouldn't have that problem anymore. I don't know how I missed it when I took a look under the hood last night

Thanks again for the help!
