KA Unstable and random idle

s13 ka24de

Some reason I just CAN NOT get my car to idle properly. Its eratic and random! I can't figure out what the hell it is..

What I've tried to fix it:

Searched high & low for vacum leaks
Replaced TPS, calibrated correctly
Replaced lower collector w/ IACV off a running motor
MAFS is new
Checked grounds and fuses, all ok..

Yeah, so I'm out of ideas. Anyone else have some?

(Emissions removed) New rebuilt motor

I don't see anything suggesting that you've checked ignition (plugs/wires, coilm, etc.) or injectors... Have you?

MSD Coil2 (new)
Injectors new as well O-rings installed correctly.

... I have a penny sized exhause leak, but I can't see how that could cauase my idle to be eratic.. I'm trying to find pair of Hotshot 4-2-1 ceramic coated headers to fix my exhaust leak, and get better performance at once... (fuckn shity pacesetters)

Exhaust leak the size of a penny? Yea.......not good, And emissions are directly inline with your vac system, even when capped off. Isnt the Evac constantly purging?

Clean out the IACV, check the alternator load.

Might wanna try to clean the Intake Manifold and replace a new Knock sensor.
Due to the old KA there will be alot of carbon stick inside the manifold so it could cause engine performace and idling problem. Also it could casue the EGR not working properly so try to clean the Manifold.

.90 percent of the time IF the MAFS goes out you encounter a 2300RPM (rev limiter) Your car pretty much won't allow you to rev past 2300. I don't know if its a saftey protocol, or just from it being fucked up, but I've encountered it on two 240s. My MAF did go bad, but I replaced it and its fine now. I can use my full rev band. Thanks for the idea though.

Read my origonal post. Its a rebuilt motor. My intake was sandblasted. There is NO carbon build up and my knock sensor is fine, plus all the sensor does it retard your timing if it senses a knock, and when it goes bad it almost always throws a code. (Plus its new, OEM from Nissan)

No, actually we blew up the MAF.
And goddamnit Eric don't fucking post a million times. Ctrl+C is your friend when trying to quote multiple posts.
My idle is a bit erratic myself lol. But I've got more on my plate after that fiasco last night.
