does gasoline hurt paint that much?

I've never noticed any paint damage and i'm sure i spill it all the time.

not much in the lil amount that spills on the car normally - that's why I put "kinda sorta useful" :P

you can see from a quick google search that some people do have a problem w/ it:

I've used window glue for my motor mounts. If you section out the center of the factory motor mounts and just leave the outer trim for the shape, just fill up center with the window glue and let it dry for a day or so.. Doesn't have the vibrations at idle and when you give it some gas, the motor seats just like solid mounts.. sorry no pics on my mounts but its pretty straight forward..

made a cold air duct from here

to here

this is the middle

its just hand bent aluminum with cheap rivits
i dont feel it much but i am sure it does help. colder air in the intake and colder air in the engine bay. my intake goes right above it.

this is another one i did that i got off of another site and it really does help out a lot. mine basically is the same. i recommend that people do this

Kinda-sorta-useful for the few who care about trying not to spill fuel onto their paint @ the gas station:

Total project time: about 3-5 minutes

Equipment required:
- Scissors
- Rubber material or a 240z fuel splash guard (or whatever it is really called)

Step 1:
- Trim the splash guard

Step 2:
- Fit the piece - if you trimmed too much like I did (or just got a rectangular piece), you can wedge it between the fuel sender grommet & the chassis.

It actually works, too! Normally I don't spill any fuel. However, yesterday, I went to fuel up & 2-3 drops escaped the fuel sender & landed onto the splash guard instead of my nice paint, YAY!
This looks like something I'd like to do especially after getting gas this morning at a full service gas station. I watched the guy yank out the pump with a good bit of gasoline dribbling out onto the car.

s13 Cheap Vacuum Manifold

So I was in Northern Tools and Equipment to get some welding wire.

I found this

Looks like the vacuum manifolds selling for anywhere from 30.00 to 70.00 shipped.

I looked more and found these

Aluminum Air Manifold w/ one 3/8" and seven 1/4" holes. All NPT. I think blue is the only color available. Also comes with two 1/4" plugs in ends. $9.99 on sale, $14.99 regular price.

Brass 3/8" NPT w/ 3/8" barb $2.79 per pack.

Brass 1/4" NPT w/ 1/4" barb $1.99 per pack.

Put them all together and you get this

Total price: $18.75 + tax.

Found a website (fittingsandnipples.com) that has cheaper brass fittings:
1/4" NPT x 1/8" barb $1.00 each
3/8" NPT x 1/8" barb $0.93 each

No mounting brackets, but it beats paying 2-3 times the price! Besides, you can make your own brackets.

Haven't seen anyone on zilvia use a vacuum manifold so far, but for less than $20.00, I thought it a good DIY.

Forgive the noob-ness, but what's the vacuum manifold for?

Running a really large cam?

Possibly an ITB setup??

Or just to clean things up maybe since that looks a little small for an itb setup

it also works for people who have very few vacuum sources on theyre engine and don't want a bunch of T's all around... instead just one of these and each fitting goes directly to what you want (FPR,wastegate, bov, gauge... whatever...)
