| Zilvia Addict ![]() | So my shocks are shot and it is killing my tires. Anyone know of a quality replacement that won't kill my wallet? What is the OEM brand? Should I try and find a new set of srpings too? Thanks, Jeff

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | As far as adjustables go, I heard that GAB Super HPs are very good. Adjustments affect bump and rebound simultaneously. I personally have Koni Yellows. Adjustments affect rebound only. Bump is constant. So far, they've seemed to be very nice. Well... heh... you can make them nice or .. however you want -- because they're adjustable. haha. You don't need springs unless you want them. I had the konis by themselves for a while, and my car was fine. There was a pretty neato difference from stock. With stock shocks, if the tail came out and I corrected, it would be hard to stop the car from fish-tailing. With the konis, I put the rebound stiffness on like 2 all around, and when the car recovered, it would be pretty smooth.

I don't know if I should buy fromt he dealer, or try to use a generic brand, or try and find the OEM brand. Ride height will stay the same. I do drive and corner pretty hard, but I never race. I want to keep it stock. If I get performance shocks, I'll end up buying new springs, which leads to new sway bars, bushings.... I'm just a poor college student Jeff

| Premium Member ![]() | well, if that's your only reason for staying stock, i'd say go with an aftermarket shock. You'll end up paying somewhere around the same amount of $$$ for a much higher quality product, and I doubt you'll want to get new sways, etc, just because you got new shocks. I've personally got KYB AGX shocks, and I love them. I do eventually want to get some Zeal coilovers, but for now i'm totally broke, lol.

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | KYB AGXs, for S14s, I heard, can be gotten for between 450 and 500 dollars. I got my Koni Yellows for 550.00, shipping and tax included. GAB Super HPs are a little above that, and you'll probably have to find a shop to import it for you from japan.

I thought they weren't out yet... Back to the topic, you can get tokico blues for about 300-400. kyb gr2's are a little cheaper I think, but people have said that they suck. Also, if you're not planning on changing springs, aftermarket shocks usually last longer.

| Nissanaholic! ![]() | If you can afford them get the Kyb yellows. If not the tokico blues will be great to. aftermarket will be better for you even if you chose to stay w/ the stock set up. Also, if you need new strut and shock boots go to tire rack. they have really good ones for a great price.

| Nissanaholic! ![]() | ack, he's trying to get stock replacment people KYB GR2s are essentially a stock replacement shock, mebbe a bit stiffer. They will do the trick for you, and you should be able to replace the full round for 200 to 300 bones.
