Ok some of you guys suggested that my timing was off, so i bought a timing light, which is in the mail.
Now I looked everywhere around my pullies today and I didnt see any timing marks or a timing scale.  Could someone tell me where the timing marks are on an 89 5 spd sohc ka 24E fastback???
I really need some help here...
also, what should I set the timing to?  My chiltons doesnt say what to set it to, and doesnt give specifics as to the location of my scale.
Much appreciate the help!

The timing marks are straight down from the center of the engine. There is a "marker" sticking out from the timing chain cover and 5 (i think) marks on the crankshatft balancer. Factory setting is 15 degrees BTDC (before top dead center) wich is the 3rd mark left of the red line wich is 0 degrees or top dead center. I advanced my timing to 20 degrees (4th mark) and noticed a increase in low end response although I recommend using 91 octane or higher fuel.

Hope this helps.....
