I have been welding little things on the car, closing off the corners of the fuel cell in the spare tire well, welding on fender tabs, fixing bits of rust here and there...

It's going to go back to the blasters and then hopefully i can start prepping for paint.

My buddies and I have built numerous fox body mustangs, and by how that one sounded, you were deffinately running with a badass mustang. Congrats! It's hard to decide which sounds better, ford small block with a ridiculous cam, or that boxer engine followed by turbo spool.

Car is ready to go to the blasters, but i didn't have a good way to get it on and off the trailer, so i made this chassis dolly. The 2 pins in the rear pick up the holes for the rear subframe and the front frame rails sit on the other end of the cart. I tried it out and it works great. The casters and wheels were only 40 bucks from harbor freight, and the steel was all FREE :snky: Sorry about the shitty pics, i was planning on doing a huge picture update today, but my camera batteries died last night.

Nifty! Looks like 1/2" tubing? Pneumatic tires, nice touch - you really go all out

dont you want to triangulate underneath those rear pickup points too?
I see you did it on the top.

nice work mang, this makes me so sad I dont have access to the mills / lathes like I used to at my old job, I had made some cool stuff there but nothing even close to your mega chop-cut-rebuild project going on here, omfg this is major!

do you think the RB26E30 is going to be romping around town this year?

If the chassis was heavier, probably. However, it's only supporting a few hundred pounds. It's also only an 8" cantilever. It's only triangulated in that direction because i wasn't getting the best penetration with my 110V mig maxed out. That brace takes the tensional component of stress out of the joint, whereas in the unsupported direction the only stress is in compression.

...if that makes sense.

This makes me want to give my E30 some RB-power before my 240. M.E.'s always have the cleanest, most perfected builds.

Here are the brackets that i made to mount the car on the rotisserie. It's a 4X4X.375 wall tube. I drilled holes and welded some nuts to the outside to lock it. The inside is shimmed so it appropriately matches the outside of the main rotisserie tube. Perpendicular is a 1 1/4 SCH40 pipe that inserts into the bumper shock holes.

OK. The blaster was having some troubles with the wheel wells, so i came and ground out the heavy stuff so they can blast the rest off.

To get an idea of what the underbody looked like before it was blasted (i had already scraped a lot at this point):

YUCK!

Here is what it looked like when i showed up. You can still see that the wheel wells are more or less untouched:

PRETTY!

Then i used a wire wheel and a pistol grip sander to remove most of the rubber in the wheel wells. This shit was almost 1/8" thick in spots!!!!

Nice! Love the rotisserie, hope to do that to one of my chassis in the future.

Just drove to Massachusetts and back after work. Got back about 4:30AM. I picked up Euro Bumpers and an OEM Mech1 Body kit... Here's an example of these items on a black car (use your imagination and picture the fender flares on it)

Body kit looks like this... i think it will look even sweeter w/ the flares!:

Nice parts list. Your car is going to be amazing. I was just looking at your seem welding. Cool deal. I want to learn how to weld. I really want to Do something like you're doing but with a 240. Strip it down and build it from scratch. I hope you make vids when you're done with it. Would like to see what it can do and how sweet its going to sound. Keep it up!!
