Hmm don't wonna sound like a n00b, but maybe someone can tell what's that about...

anyways, here is the problem: when i start the car, my rpms drop down low till like 300, and then climb back up to 1200 when i start the car for the first time during the day. The other thing, is that sometimes the engine just shakes like crazy (the whole car shakes together with it) as if it can't get to higher rpms.... any idea on what might be causing it? plugs? wires? battery? Thanx

Could be injectors, my sister's s13 had a similar problem, it would shake and idle low. Ended up being the injector connectors.

Have you messed with any of the wires around the front grill?  There is a Ambient Air temp sensor that is up front that when disconnected will produce the problems you have.

I found this after putting in my intercooler and failing to reconnect the wire.  Once I did that it ran and idled fine.   A good injector/fuel system cleaner might be needed.

to my knowledge that ambient air sensor is part of the A/C system....

Where can I find ambient air sensor?

I have the same problem that my car, 93 ka stock, is shaking like crazy when I start up my car. Also the idle goes down to 500rpm, intead of going up to 1000rpm, when I turn on the AC. When I turn AC off, the idle goes up about 1000rpm from 500rpm and then returns to 700rpm. The engine dies (rpm goes to zero) when I hit the clutch when it is in high rpm such as 60 mile/hr at 5000rpm.

For this problem, I replaced spark plugs and fuel filter and cleaned the throttle body. What else should I do?

check your MAFS my car had a similar problem until i replaced mine , then it went away. i think it could also be a grounding problem, but most likely its the MAFS. or something fuel related like the pump. could be many things check your distributor too.

how is it when driving?

seems like u found this thread in a search so just keep searching im sure you'll find something better. try searching
MAFS or mass air flow sensor.
