Hey.. I didn't mean any disrespect or anything, if that's what you meant by that comment. I don't know "every" single person who's performed this swap. I know and talk to Allen.. so, that's why I mentioned his name.. I also said "others", which would entail those that I don't know of.

I put a lot of time and effort into doing swaps in other vehicles.. so I know how much work it is. That's why I give credit where it's due..

Good job..

I wasn't implying you at all man. More "Tre"...

Anyway, thanks. Definitely hit me up if you've got questions.

Good luck with it.

Are those Version Select fenders? You got those to fit very well. Are they the widebody or OEM width? Cars looking good. I plan on doing the both lines on mine in a couple years.

Not sure... I got them from Venus, along with the hood.. Honestly, I just wanted OEM fenders, but they sent me these instead.. I have been fighting with fitment, and, after some grinding/drilling, I have them bolted up and fitting pretty well.

The lower body line was out of the question for me... too much work..

I haven't looked at the speedometer signals between the Z and 240sx transmission.. But, we're probably going to use a microprocessor based system to convert the Tach, speedo and water temp signals to what the 240sx cluster is looking for. We did a similar box for our VQ swap into the Sentra chassis.. It converts the tach signal and actually controls the A/C system as well.

That was the prototype unit.. it worked out great.. here's the final version, which has several more input/output pins for more flexibility..

It should.. just have to get the lines made for the compressor to condensor/evaporator.. The A/C will be cycled on/off using a timer based system, through the microprocessor. Basically, the compressor reads off of the pressure sensor, as a failsafe, and, as long as it doesn't get out of hand, pressure wise, the processor turns the A/C relay on/off, on a timed circuit, preset in a DOS program.

Yup.. it's built into the system.. If the TPS voltage gets above 3.5 volts, the processor's cycle is interupted, and the A/C relay open circuits.. Once it falls back below 3.5 volts, the A/C cycle is started again.

SR240DET, I'm not sure if you were asking both of us. I run no speedo. All other guages are aftermarket. Water temp, oil temp, oil press, fuel press, tach, etc...

Thats some slick stuff Travis. So you're really going to try to keep this a civil daily. Impressive.

if this was a track car then i would run no speedometer, but i need A/C here in florida and working guages since its a daily driver. I understand there is a guy out there that makes the spacer for the TO bearing but i cant get ahold of him anymore if you guys know where i can find this spacer, or specs to get one made at the machine shop that would be great.

The only reason you would need that spacer, is if you were to run the VQ30 flywheel. The VQ35 flywheel sticks out further. The VQ30 flywheel must be used if the VQ30 ECU/harness is used. People who have done this swap, like to run the VQ stuff, because it doesn't entail using the immobilizer system and drive by wire. There is NO VQ35 ECU that doesn't use the immob and drive by wire.. There is a big ring on the outside of the flywheel, with a pickup sensor.. this is how the ECU knows where the engine is at in it's rotation, in relation to TDC. The teeth on the VQ30 and VQ35 rings are completely incompatible.. so, you can't use a VQ35 flywheel, with a VQ30 ECU, and vice-versa. However, I will be using the VQ35 ECU and harness.. and converting to drive by wire. I have plenty of knowledge about the control system, since I have been doing VQ swaps into the Sentra for the past year or so. So, I will retain the CVTC system, and I'll be able to use the 350z flywheel/clutch.. eliminating the need for a custom spacer.

That is all correct about the flywheel/sensor ring issues. The guy that made my spacer is on FA mostly. His SN is insndrv. The spacer pushes the Bearing 29mm away from the carrier and TO arm. The 29mm is the only important spec. All the the other specs can be gathered by ripping apart an OEM Z TO bearing.
