| Leaky Injector ![]() | Just installed 225/45/17s...gonna be a problem? I got some D2s and finally got tires on them. I was told to go with the 45 aspect ratio. When they checked out the % difference at Costco, it was less than 3%, but when I did it on the 1010.com calculator, it was 3.05%. It says anything over 3% runs the risk of brake failure! Makes me nervous and annoyed (should've gotten 40s apparently....gah!) Is this going to realistically going to be an issue? |

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | you wont experience much, if any change in their behavior. just like for speedometer changes... the difference is minimal, but it does exist.

| Zilvia FREAK! ![]() | What about all those pimped out rides with 26 and 32 inch wheels? Never heard anything bad about those except tranny failure and wheels breaking off and flying into oncoming traffic.

| Leaky Injector ![]() | Hahaha, good stuff. I've plus sized rim and tire combinations for years. I've never had any brake problems, abs malfunctions or anything like what you are describing. The thought of brakes overheating and exploding is totally rediculous. |

| Post Whore! ![]() | think about it too, if they say 3 percent is fine, and your talking 3.05, its not a clear cut anything over exactly 3.0000000000000000000 will explode, there is grey area in which the 3.05 would be in anyway, if something has a rating, then theres always room here and there

| Leaky Injector ![]() | at all you guys thinking I was serious about my brakes exploding/causing a supernova hahahahha Anyways, I just meant that it might wear out the brakes due to larger/heavier setup. Thank you ZADS for the info about the ABS, I think that covers it all. You guys crack me up ![]() |

| Zilvia Junkie ![]() | I've seen brakes explode. But that was at Leguna Seca when one of the Speed GT Corvette's blew a front rotor to pieces. It was crazy. But, you won't kill your brakes over wheel size. The larger rotational mass will put extra strain on the brakes to slow the vehicle, so you might go through brakes 3% quicker. But, then again, your engine will also be working harder to turn those bigger wheels so you'll be going 3% slower. ![]() Honestly, unless you are SERIOUSLY plus sizing (like putting 22" on an s13 with stock brakes), then you probably will not even notice a difference. |

| Hmm. Wow, look at the flaming because you don't understand. My last post was meant to go ALONG w/ Mjjstang's comment about tolerances. It was not directed at Mjjstang, it was directed at Csdcowboy. Quote:
