KA FINALLY fired up., kA Idle issues, EGR a factor?

Hey I was finally able to get the KA STARTED after a tedius timing experience, it finally started, only problem is it feels like a bull wanting to jump out of the body, with the sound of a detroit diesel. i HAVE tried and tried to get it smoth with no success. the only thing that was changed when i replaced the head gasket was i blocked off the EGR. are there any specific precedures to go about this? the car works fine on highway driving, just has a bad attitude at low rpm's.

Wait a second. Did you kill the computer in the car so everything reset?

This is what happend to my 240 when i finally put a new o2 sensor in. It idled/cruised like shit but full open wouldn't be a problem.

It could be the ECU retuning itself.

The O2 sensor is not used under WOT. Replace your O2 sensor and unhook the battery for about 10minutes to reset the ECU. If you replaced your headgasket, it may have been burning coolant which wreaks the O2 sensor.

Make sure your timing is set correctly cause that will cause the idle problem.

I'm almost sure it's your timing, I had a friend with a problem like this.
Factory setting is 20* I believe.

well so far i've checked and rechecked almost all the vacum lines, so its eiter timing or ecu issues, howver i did put my computer to check codes and it kept saying the o2 wasnt ready, so maybe my o2 went bad, although, i never had a problem before, i only changes the gasket for boost purposes. i feel it must be timing, uhhh....
