looking for some one do a decent paint job on my s14. got 1k to spend, i also heard about auto explosion but how much do they charge?

They are probably out of your price range if you only have 1k to spend, but they do amazing work. for 5k, they straightened my frame, replaced my core support, took out all the dents and dings, fitted and installed the body kit, and painted the car. I think the paint job alone was around $2700, which is reasonable considering the quality.

dude I paint for a living and for decent paint supply your going to be spending around 800 bucks . Thats if you go with decent paint supply like dupont/ppg

base/clear/primer/sealer/sand paper/tape/ reducer/ hardener/ tack cloth/ masking paper

Yes you can get it cheaper if you know the right people, but even now days places were I work (Honda of America) Paint supply has gone up. No offense but there is no way in hell would I paint a car for 1k including supply. IF the car is 100% ready and preped Your still going to be spending more. Decent= 3,500-4,000 and up.

not sure were in cali your located but my buddy owns a body shop in ontario ca.. they do really good paint work and have fair prices.. if u want feel free to call him the shop is called Brooks Street Collision the number is (909) 983 6529 ask for erik tell him mo sent u ..they do mostly everything (fender rolling fiberglass work ect ect.. their are also a few members on zilvia that can vouch for his shop..

Try Platinum VIP in Irwindale. They painted my brother's G35 with very amazing results. They even took out the dents free of charge! But I think 1k isn't going very far with them.

CrimsonRockett works for Angry Panda Fabrication and they won't do a quality paintjob for 1k.. SidewayzS14 posted a thread like this not too long ago and that's what CR said. Idk who godrifttoday is but I'd try him

Your budget will not work with Angry Panda, they do great work, but it costs a bit, just like good paint jobs do haha. Also, i heard that Crimson doesn't work with them anymore...but maybe still does paint jobs? His were legit when I saw some of his work a long time ago.

Seriously, try hitting up PAC, they will work with your budget, painted alot of drift cars as well as show cars!

theres a shop in irwindale called performace auto body they do good shit..talk to guero hes my cousin and the owner tell him that luis sent you..he'll hook it up

he fixed and painted Tommy Suell's corolla after his crash at Red Bull last year. Also did Mike Essa's ls6 Rx7 and just finished Takatori's car before Irwindale. And he's doing all of Megan Racings cars for next year.

my car is there as I type this. Legit guys and they'll work with your budget.

Yep, if you want a budget paint job, we are definitely NOT the shop to go to.

I stopped working with Angry Panda for a bit to take care of some things at home, but I should be going back pretty soon.

Body shops that charge far less are using some shitty ass materials.

Average cost of paint jobs with us are $3,000+ because materials alone are roughly $1,000+.

Not just paint, but sanding paper(every grit used), masking tape, paper, buffer pads, polish, etc etc. Everything adds up in the end. If you don't believe me, feel free to try and paint your car yourself(the right way). See if that shit doesn't add up on you.

Most shops that charge less use inferior products. Clear that fades quickly and/or turns yellow.

Crimson is right, luckily all of those materials are available to me lol. I got away with painting my car for roughly about 800 dollars once all was said and done. But that's because I did mostly all of the body work along with my brother.

if your going for a cheap but decent paintjob
do the prep yourself sand it and what not its not that hard

then you'll have more to spend on a better paint job

If anyone needs any work done check out AUTOMOTIVE HIGH PERFORMANCE, ENGINE, SUSPENSION, TUNING ask for Chris or Mike, they are the owners of the shop. Real nice setup they have going on there.

just got back from Brooks ... lowest price qoute i gotten so far around the 626/909 area. will be back there to get it painted, i'll let you'll know how it turns out.
