Serious. Hopefully OP of BBQ gets the ball rolling and chooses a proper spot with enough parking for everyone.

Hell, it's a month and a half away and we have 25 or 26 people already on the caravan list.

I might be pitching in to grab some stuff.
Last time I bought some meat for the BBQ, there was already tons of it.
Hey Jimmy, ever think of setting up a potluck fund for the locals?
So that way we wont bring the same stuff and we have more variety.

Considered it, but folks always have opinions on what should be bought with their money. It works out great if people don't flake on paying and we get enough to please everyone though.

I know for the SoCal Tech Day a few months back that's what they did and plenty of food was bought. I believe it was $10 a head. Plus it gives you a reason to show up if you pay in advance.

Could easily make a list of the things our group wants and see if we can get a little of everything.

There was like a hundred pounds of carne asada and there wasnt too much variety. I'll be sure to bring something unique. Anybody else like dog meat?
