Hey guys I picked-up a front end for my car last Friday. I had to get it, the dude was selling it for cheap. I want to use it for practice for maneuvering onto driveways. I know i'm gonna tear-it-up, my tow hooks always scrape.

My question is: Is there a particular way to prep fiberglass when using Krylon spray paint?

I know Cody can help me on this one.

Any input is appreciated.

Its already primered? When I got my kit I washed it after the test fit and then just sprayed it haha. Like 2-3 coats should be good.

Just a word of advice though Memo... if you intend on painting it to match the car spray can paint is going to screw it up a bit. Before I did mine I talked to ThatGuy and he suggested not to spray it so that's why I was rockin the plain white for a bit. But it's up to you, everyone has their own ways of doing things.

Oh and BTW I'm still rollin' to the meet tomorrow, just not going to In-N-Out. I'm not lookin' to get popped just by chance for kickin' it there. Not worth the risk for me. We just kick it in the back anyway so why not just stay at our location where we're safe from PD. And like Hammy said maybe we'll just do a crew cruise instead after. I'm down for that.

Thanxs Rich. I was planning on just painting it black since my car is already a dark toned color.
I just want to experiece the art of not thrashing a front airdam on the streets, is all. maybe I'll pick-up a better one after I'm done with this one.
I agree about the In-N-Out meet: to dicey for me too.

Al told me about a spot that can actually match factory paint and put it in a can for you. He has cans of misty blue metallic in his garage. I'll be getting a few cans of Super Black done up soon too.

Yeah, I heard that some paint shops do that. My gf has her 06 civic blue in a spray can and it looks damn near close enough.

You can also buy color matched spray cans from paintscratch.com. I painted my subaru sideskirts and it came out perfect. Even though its older paint itll be better than painting it black.

I just wish I had my Tahoe back so that I wouldn't have to use the 240 every day. That way I could take it to a shop.
It seems to me that you all want me to paint the body add-ons the same color as the car. Man, I think I'll look into these autopaint stores that match paint colors.

I think I'll hold-off on the paint and just test fit the thing for now. I would like to get it on the car for that track day on the 23rd at least.

Yup that was him. When you have time drop by and pay him a visit so he could take a look at your car and you could discuss what you want to do. He's a real cool kat, doesn't charge alot and does pretty good work.
And if you wanna rock the front end for the event go for it bro who cares if it's not painted. You're drivin' a 240 & trackin' it, no need to have it lookin' pristine right away

I know you know there's worse looking cars that go to the track than an unpainted front bumper on your foty.

BTW: I just uploaded my car in the Members Rides Gallery so go check it out and let me know what you think. It's still in the works as I have more things obviously to install plus more pics to take.
