Just check out the sight www.k1speed.com
i've heard great things about k1, but unfortunately, i've never had the pleasure of karting there..and the only negative for me and i'd imagine most of the 818's guys around here would be that its in anaheim..i mean this one is like roughly 15-20 mins. from the spot last night..and its kinda tucked away..

Good luck dude. Just go prepared. I remember for my 1st job interview ever I had prepared a simple portfolio containing certificates of acheivements & several reference letters to help me look serious about a job. Another business tip is dress professionally, even if it's for a Longs Drugs interview. Wear a shirt, tie & slacks with black shoes. The more prepared you arrive the more serious you'll look and better your chances will be.
Everything else should fall into place. I'm sure they'll see how bad you want to work and just reiterate it to them, that you'll learn on the job etc etc... don't give them a chance to knock on your age and inexperience. Retail jobs are always good 1st jobs. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I think the MB2 karting would be better for this meet's crowd. Since it's basically at the top of Balboa right? But if we're trying to make it huge then a K1 set-up might work out better. I remember a few of the S2k guys went on those karting things out at MB2 and K1 (valley and torrance meets) before they met up later on that night. I think it could work out great for us to.

Yeah heard the same. I'm not sure about the drive to Anaheim unless I drive the Navi cuz of the SR. Too long of a risky drive for me.

Only thing I'm not liking about MB2 so far is the prices. Pretty much to get deals you have to have a membership. Cheapest membership is $40 (Group Pass need min. 5 folk to sign up at the same time). Prices w/o membership is $23 for a 14 lap race.

Stinky_180 and his friends paid $15 for a 14 lap race while I paid $20 because the first time you pay for the license thing or whatever. Actually I paid $15 as well because I brought the $5 off coupon . Plus Tues & Weds you get 3 14 lap races for $40 or $35 w/ coupon. If you already have an MB2 membership then it's much cheaper seeing as you can get 2 14 lap races for $20 on Tues.

I've never been to any of these places. But if we end up setting something up I'd love to go at least once with you guys. And if it works out great and it ends up being MB2 I might have to invest in getting a membership.

yeah the membership deals are great, but dude it'd be $40 the first time we go and if we want to race again another $18. $58 for two runs? FOCK!

I'll call tomorrow and see if we can get group discounts or whatever.

^ wow, that would be an epic day!

I actually have some ideas stirring. Hansen Dam just popped up into my head for a BBQ spot and it's incredibly close to the Topanga canyon which we can cruise on. Then when ready take the 210 and exit left on Yarnell, right on foothill, another right on balboa and boom karting.

It can be done quite easily, it would just have to be on a weekend day, preferably Sunday. 10am or 11am meet up at the park. Prepare food and eat for an hour or two hours. Pack up and head out to the canyon for however long a cruise typically lasts (I wouldn't know lol) and def. take some nice shots. Then cruise back down and head over to the karting spot. For 1 or 2 races.

Food can be had for cheap since we can buy shit at wal-mart or whatever. We could buy the typical stuff for burgers and hotdogs. 2 hot dogs and 2 burgers per person plus 24 packs of water/snapple/gatorade are all pretty cheap. Just some quick ideas.

yea..but if u think about with gas prices the way they're going wouldn't a drive to Anaheim be about the same cost..? not to mention all miles you're going to put on..and maybe for all of those that don't have a trackpass we could work something out with MB2 for a really good discount..(you know..buy in bulk and save..) and last i knew this place is really quite during the week..

lol Steve, honestly for something like that it'd be best to just rent out the facility for an hour. quick math, $23 per 14 lap race multiplied by say 50 comes out to 1,150 and since I think we'd all want to race more than once, let's double that and we get 2,300. $2,200 is the hourly rate over the weekend. Every race is about 5-6 min. in legth w/ a max of 10 racers per race. 30min = 5 races = 50 racers = 2 races per person in an hour.

For this I'm shooting for about the same amount of ppl we get at our meet. So around 20 ppl would be great.

lol I really wouldn't want to deal with renting out the place seeing as you would need to gather up the money first to pay for the place. Plus not everyone can fully commit sometimes so it makes it difficult to pull off.

A group of 15-20 and calling up in advance to get a discount would be much better in my opinion. Tomorrow I'll just try and see if we could get down the projected total of $920 (if 20 ppl were to show up and pay $23 for two races) to something a little more reasonable.
