| def not 2 hours to mia, more like 4. i was born and raised in Ft lauderdale. its alright but price of living is way too high and employment is becoming a big issue. Jacksonville is huge and spread out, but for some reason still has a 'small town' feel. Orlando is a clusterfuck, but almost smack dab in the middle of the state... and close to most major highways...has some surrounding cities that are not so congested. Tallahassee is supposed to be the next big growing city in FL. (construction-wise) but who knows what the economy will do to that idea. as far as weather goes, its the best in the country (if you like being warm). during the winter when we get cold fronts there is almost always about a 10-15 degree difference from Jacksonville to Orlando, and same goes for between Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale (warmer the more south you go). Panhandle can get down right cold. gl and congrats on engagement. | |

| i live in jacksonville... if you like a more 'country' feel this is your place. but yet its still a good sized city. there's a few good schools here, nice shopping malls, and spread out so you can get your car up to whatever speed you want without hitting too bad of traffic depending on the time of day. really don't have any tracks tho, only one got closed and it was just a drag strip. most people go to gainesville i guess for tracks. or hit up the parking lots for some drifting late night. what kinda job are you looking 4? | |

| Premium Member ![]() | Been to FT. Lauderdale many a times and its a very nice place, would love to live there myself. You have access to nearly everything (stores, malls, airports, dealerships...) and from what my uncle tells me its not an expensive place to live at, then again he is a pilot so he makes bank.

Tampa is ok, pretty ghetto but its ok. USF is in Temple Terrace too, second best medical program in Florida (UF has the first). Orlando is a great city too, I loved it when I lived there. | |
