I am betting it is either:
  1. Because she can't drive stick
  2. Because she wants a LESS molested chassis, an auto would be perfect as that.
  3. #2 above, combined with a desire to swap.
  4. All of the above combined

Valid points, and I thought of those. If it was #1 I would tell her to just learn, its easy. Hell, I'll teach her she doesnt live far from me apparently

well honestly i want an automatic right now because i am currently in the process of learning how to drive a stick, im just not comfortable with the thought of having a stick as my dailey driver right now (i multi-task while driving waaaaaay too much) but i plan on saving up some money and swap it to a 5 speed and eventually make it a drifter

the 240's are cake to learn stick, even with your multitasking issue, stick is the way to go. I had an auto 240 for 2 years, had to sell it. Now I have a stick, and up until purchase, had never driven stick. once I got it legal and whatnot, spent 2 hours in a parking lot learning, and the next day i took it on the interstate and through city traffic with no problems. Plus, multitasking is bad mmkay

Put on makeup before you leave the house and pull your ass over when talking on the phone

Not too many 240ers (or drifters) in Athens, are you a UGA student?

Well, what do you want? Praise for being an irresponsible driver?

Don't misunderstand me, I change the station on my radio and flip through CDs now and then as well, but I don't like talking on cellphones (or other distracting things) while I'm driving. It's irresponsible and ends up endangering other people on the road.

Sorry to be blunt, but most of us here don't like distracted drivers, as they tend to mess our cars up.

If you're looking for a forum full of people who'll be nice to you because you're a girl, regardless of what you do, you may want to look elsewhere. You won't find much luck in that department here.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, finding you a car.

Being in GA, I'd suggest you see out the services of Russ (projectRDM). I'm fairly certain he has a database of all 240sx's in Georgia.

Note to everybody else: No more going off-topic in this thread.

honestly, ive found that the BEST way to learn how to drive stick is to daily drive it. i did a lot of "learning" in a parking lot with my moms beetle, or my step dads S10 and NEVER got completely comfortable, to put it bluntly, i sucked. but as soon as i got my license and i got my own manual car, it came MUCH more natural when i was actually daily driving it.

thats just my opinion though, the more you avoid driving manual, the longer its going to take for you to learn.

good luck!

exactly the best way to learn to drive a stick is to daily drive it, and i also agree on the point that you should not be multi tasking while driving. if you have not noticed driving is multi tasking in itself

I also had some practice in parking lots, but really learned alot when my dad handed me the keys to his truck and said "go pick up your brother, dont be late" boy was I nervous, but a few miles up the road it became eazy smeazy :P

as for an auto 240 check out autotrader.com or iwanna.com, iwanna is more of a SC/NC/eastern TN thing but a drive wouldn't hurt right?

You clods love to ruin a thread.

I have a 1996 SE auto, KH3 Super Black, sunroof, 76,xxx miles. It was lightly hit in the front, waiting on parts to repair. Clean title, clean car. PM me and we can discuss price, I can sell it as is or repaired and painted, ready to go.
