Shortened power steering hard lines
So I recently wrecked my s13 and had to drag it out of the spot we were at. I took this opportunity to pull the engine and do some upgrades, but when we drug it out of the spot and since the engine mounts snapped and crushed the hard lines on the subframe I decided to shorten them where they were away from the oil pan and off the subframe. I simply just cut them and put a hose where the u shaped loop would be on the passenger side of the car. Anybody ever do this?

Beems is right^ it acts as a cooler. I did the something similar during my rb swap. I ended up shortening and rerouting the line. I did not however use a powersteering cooler. But I also never drove it hard enough to find out if I needed one.

The extra hardline that runs back and forth across the subframe acts as a cooler. Best bet would be to delete it completely and run new lines and a small cooler up front like beems240sx said. I did that for mine, since my alternator bolt rubbed through the stock cooler/hard line.

I mean I did loop them, but with a hose and I have 06 Altima fans wired up to my car as pullers at full speed and they cool pretty good and I don't beat the living hell out of my car.
