Holy Hella Amazingness, read the entire build and nothing short of perfection. This makes me wanna get off my ass and put my car back together. I love that you kept the car for ten years and did not give up. Dont worry, im sure once you have it running, and build a bulletproof SR from your other motor it is worth every penny and every second of time put into it.

unfortunaly no update yet on the car. BUT seeing as how i hate to work on bare concreate that creates a lot of fucken dust. i decided to take all my shit out of my carport and make a sutible work space. Now im a little more motivated to get some shit done on this car
I used Rustoleum 2part water based epoxy with their paint flakes. Now im not too keen on the water based idea. So i picked up their solvent based clear with aluminum oxide for traction and i also decided to pick up one of these and another video of it running VID_20110527_210708.mp4 video by japslapsilvia - Photobucket Thanks!

The time has come to FINALLY! strip this POS car and send it off to the painter
Tear down begins i almost forgot how high the stock suspension is Completely stripped chassis no interior, painter will be doing all the body work and fitting the kit, as well as painting the inside, under the hood and painting the cage.

HOWEVER please note that, they will be slightly too long and will not seal as the BMC has 45* sealing seat, so two options. 1. remove the seat 2. use a drill bit and open the hole in the banjo bolt. I went with #2 as the banjo uses crush washers to seal vs the seat.

Think it'd be fine to stack 2 washers on each side?

i suppose you could, and chances are it would seal just fine, but i would personally rather the bolt being drilled out, as it not much material to remove and only takes a few mins to do

It's funny, all these kids see these nice cars and they don't really understand what it takes to build them. They've got this ridiculous idea that it's easy and will happen quickly. They don't realize that these nice cars took YEARS to build. That's how we end up with so many shitboxes. Kids get into the project and then realize that it's not as easy as they thought.
While I may not like the style of this particular car, nothing but respect for the time, effort, and of course money that went into making it happen! |
