So he should keep a salvage title car that will be impossible to recoup any money on after deciding to stick with it. It's not a dream car people want to grow old with. I seriously doubt I'll still have my car 10 years from now.

Isn't that a lil redundant? ^^ he needs a shell for the motor and you need a motor for the shell....lol joking, he can use the insurance cash to buy another swap

Hahaha hey you gotta at least be able to laugh it off its just a car in the end... plus driving any car across the country is a bad idea let alone a 240 with no side-view mirrors lol

I haven't touched the tranny stuff yet because I'm contemplating swapping in a S14 SR instead of buying a 400 dollar clutch for a ka thats worth about the same price (I know I'll have to buy a clutch for the SR too but whatever haha). Will handle it all next monthish

haha i have a 400mm broadway mirror side mirrors would have just been redundant. i could literally see 180 degrees. and the car looks 1000x better without them i still think its funny that you people act as if thats the issue or something.

I see didn't know that. I depend on my side mirrors a lot because my rear window is blocked by stickers. Still though driving a 240 for any longer than a couple hours sucks ass... plus you're lucky to not be injured in that accident look at the bright side 240's are replaceable

End the end that's what really matters. OP could have been hurt along with his car being written off...

Saw the post on S-chassis Facebook page, had no idea the car was this well put together. Sorry to hear.

This has to be the absolute nicest post Wayne's ever made. That's special.

Dude you are crazy, a '98 kouki will be rolling across a barrett jackson auction in 30 years for $50k and you will be kicking yourself in the ass... They made less than 1200 '98 koukis and god knows how many have died from rust and shit like this... let alone it was an original 5 speed... that car was extremely rare and cannot be replaced without a nice hunk of cash.

Our generation loves these with nice swaps, FD's, EVOs, STIs... etc not so much the abundant camaros and mustangs... when were old we will want one again just like all our dads want their '67 shelby or '70 440 charger they sold for $4k back in the 70s

i agree and disagree ive had a lot of cool cars when im 50 i dont think the S chassis will be one im like dang i miss my 240. fd rx7 will always hold a place in my heart as well as the over produced evo. honestly my main love for this car was in the color which is infact rare and when im 50 if i happen to find a moss silver 98 manual 240 for under 20k$ ill probably buy it but 50k isnt going to happen

I'll pay you the insurance, 'buy it back' price for your car, if you decide you don't want to keep it.

Sorry to hear about your loss, cars def not repairable & since it seems like the insurance paid you already does that mean your not parting it out anymore?
