My Sil40 Build

The first few post's of this build thread will be brought over from another forum I started the thread on. Hope you guys enjoy. Im pretty excited about it.

First up, the car. I had recently sold my last car a Genesis Coupe, and was sick of making payments. My brother and pops are both in the S-Chassis game so I figured I'd try my luck at it. Found what i think was a pretty good deal on craigslist and drove a couple hours in an ice storm to pick her up.
1990 Nissan 240sx/Silvia Front/SR swapped and some sweet 17" Konigs, one was bent, and another had two spokes cracked completly through. Made for a fun drive home.

Got the car home and immediately hit the web to start ordering parts.
First on the list was overs. The rear quarters had some damage and figured overs would be the best bet and would match well with the aero I had in mind. Also I picked up a set of MB Battles. Before we get in the debate about overs and battles and not being an aggressive enough wheels it needed to be done due to the damage on the quarter panels.
Anyway picked up the Fineline Tuning 180sx 50mm Overs actually seem to be pretty good quality for a replica.

Ordered aero as well, but the silvia front bumper was on back order for a month so it gave me sometime to clean the car up get tires mounted and wheels on the car. Rolled and pulled the front fenders some and rolled the rears for the time being when i decide to drive it to work. Also knock out the 5 lug conversion.

Had a mishimoto fmic laying around the garage so decided to throw it on and replace the beat up fmic that was on the car when I got it.

Forgot about this waiting on the build thread to be approved.
Also forgot to mention in the first post the build starter March 1st 2015.
So at this point this is about how the car sat.

Aero finally came in, fit like shit (VIS B-Speed). Probably should have seen that coming but anyway we made it fit.

Mounted the overs. Stock quarters were beat to fu*k

Overs came from *Fineline Tuning and fit great. Pretty cool company to work with.

So about this time I was ready to see some color on her. So I started the body work. Had never really messed with body work, had watched some other people do it but never done it first hand. So fuck it Ill give it a go.
Scotch brighted the whole car down and started circling all the dents and dings. You never know how many you have till you start circling.

Then started the process of laying bondo and sanding.

Then my brother shot it with primer and me and him sanded some more, and some more, and some more.

Finally knocked it out and later that afternoon shot it with color.

Taking a step back real quick. So at this point I had owned the car a couple months and everything was going smooth no issues so I was pretty stoked on how everything was going. All along I had planned on going red with the car. Was leaning towards Honda/Acura "Milano" Red. But at the last minuted I had started looking around at different colors and kinda wanted something a little bit different. After looking at a bunch of different colors I came down to two. Ford Z9 Candy Blue Tint, or BMW (Cant remember the Paint Code) Atlantis blue. Not to be confused with BMW Atlantic Blue. Upon more searching it seemed the BMW color was fairly rare and there was quite a bit of debate over the EXACT paint code as there were numerous. I had this vision in my head of exactly how I wanted it to look so final choice went with the Ford Z9. No turning back. Went down to the O'Rileys had it mixed up and purchased all the rest of my supplies to get the paint job done.

Sprayed the wheels white as well while we had a little down time.
My pops came over and sprayed her down with some color

Nice build, how hard was doing the body work? I'm thinking of doing my own body work as well.

Let everything sit over night and started putting everything back together that next day. Was to stoked not to get out and cruise around some.

Adjusted ride height some and me and my brother went out and cruised around for a while.

Still plenty of stuff on the list to get taken care of.
Currently have 30mm spacers on the rear but just ordered 35mm.
Also ordered some new lug nuts. The gold we had just laying around and I hate how it clashed with everything else. Order some BLOX 50mm in neochrome. Fanboi shit fuck it whatever haha.
DMAX tails, 326 wing, street faction front bash bar, clear corners, and some other small shit on the horizon just gotta get the money back right.

Most recent pic.

Anyway hope you enjoy the build, ill keep updating as it goes along.

It wasnt as bad as I expected, but it was nice having family who knew what they were doing so they could come check it out and be like you need to work on this spot more so on and so forth. If you know someone who knows what their doing that could kinda keep an eye on your work I'd say go for it. Mines not perfect but if your looking hard enough to see the imperfections your trying to hate.

Havent been around here in a while.
Got the Street Faction bash bar on as well as new tail lights.
Will probably be looking at new aero for the first of the year so i can get the car a little lower. Still have a small list of other things I want to do with the car but moving a little slower right now.

That colour is awesome. Your Brother-in-law's hatch looks really nice too!

No mention that I could see, but was there much cutting/polish work needed after you painted it?

Thanks man! My brother in law actually has a coupe.

The car could probably benefit from being wheeled out but I havent yet. There is a little trash in the paint but not enough to be real concerned with it.
