Cleaning car parts?

What is the best way to clean hubs, rotors, brakes, etc? I have a 5 lug conversion that im gonna install in my car in a couple days but I would like to clean everything first, is there a product any of you reccomend?
I remember someone posted some kind of spray bottle they used for their brakes and they looked almost new after they were cleaned, but I can't find the damn thread.
