KA Trans Help

So I'm in the process of swapping my manual trans on my KA and Im wondering if the input shaft is supossed to have any play? Mine has a tiny bit of play if i am to grab it and try to pull it out, nothing too alarming but I just wanted to make sure. Also, being paranoid i took off the front cover assembly that goes over the input shaft and saw that the plastic bracket in the input shaft bearing had a crack so im going to try to clean it out and re-lube it to be safe. Anyone know what type of grease i should pack it with?
