Well I will try to do my best to keep everyone's wallets in mind. I will probably just go with one company to keep it simple and easy and hopefully they won't price gouge. Or if they do t want to do business with me bc I am just an individual and not a major company. Either way, I'll start selling them on my own and if demand goes way up, then I'll look to partner.

My trim had pulled off of the glass at about 55mph over the summer, it cracked in 2 places. I had it taped down for about a month before I pulled it off carefully, painstakingly cleaned all of the urethane residue off of the trim & windshield. Then I epoxied the trim back to 1 piece, prepped the glass and trim with wax and grease remover, and layed down a nice even layer of 3m window weld to the trim. Stuck the trim down over the glass and weighted it down with some 6x6 blocks of wood I had laying around. Trim resealed quite nicely and does not leak. i may be more fortunate than others in this thread, and yet I would still be interested in a new replacement! I hope it come to fruition. Thanks for you hard work!

Sorry guys been busy with things and also put it on the back burner for a few weeks. I do actually have in my possession a 3D model of the trim piece. I sent it to Protolabs and they said that it's going to cost $12.5k dollars for each mold to be made. I need two molds so that's $25k that I would need to make a production run.

My wallet is t that fat so that's why I put it to the side for now. I am currently getting my S14.5 back up an running so I have been spending time on it. If anyone knows of a company that can create this for less, let me know. So, I'm pretty sure this is why it has ever been attempted. Upfront cost is a mother fucker.

Dang it. We really need a company to come through for us. I was really hoping to have a sunroof trim this summer.

Yeah. If you have the files from the scan for the prototype. We could try one of those 3D printer websites. Even if it's off the first few times, or if I need to trim, add material to make it work it would be worth it.

Wow that's pricey. Might as well startup a gofundme or something along those lines. We need to get this going.. Me and my dad tried some generic molding with new adhesive and it's kind of coming along. But I just want to stop the leaks. I really hope this becomes a thing

Question

Many parts are used on multiple vehicles

My question is

Is the 240 sunroof made for that only
Or was it also used on other nissan models

That's a damn good point. I haven't heard of it being used on any other chassis, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Also in for updates. Figures upfront cost would be a shit-load. But if this manages to get going you can count me in for 2 minimum.

The sunroofs all leak from that seal, there not supposed to be water tight, if it leaks or you get water on you or in the car, its likely you have a clogged drain tube... there are 4 drain tubes.

Do you know where they are?
I ask because there is a huge gap in my sunroof seal and I'm wondering if that is a missing piece of rubber or if that is one of the drain openings.

That gap in the seal towards the rear is supposed to be there. There's a drip pan below that gap that diverts water into the 4 drain tubes.
