Sr20det

So I have a opportunity to buy my buddies sr20 I'm wonderin how good of a deal I'm getting and how much the set up is actually worth its a type x sr20 with wire specialty harness, trany, and isr gt28 turbo with dyno tune putin 270hp not sure of the ft/lb l

It's pretty much a full swas I would just have to get the harness switched from s13 to s14 plugs

He just bought a full vh swap and don't want the Sr any more

And how did you come to that figure with the minimal detail provided by the poster?? All I see is a $2500-$3k swap and a $200 turbo

type x SR + trans $2k
WS harness $500
ISR turbo $500
dyno tune $1k-3k depending on ECU (edit: it's a nistune so $1k including dyno time)

Oh and 740cc injectors and a nistune and ethampy tune

And he said everthing for 1k and since he is going to a vh he won't need any of the stuff

And I know it's a steel just curious to how much it's worth

And he got the original set up from one of those jdm import companies

nistune $500
dyno time $500
injector $500

that brings the total to $4500. so yeah, it's a steal.

but $1000 for it all seems suspiciously cheap. as the old saying goes: if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

people don't even sell stock SR's for $1k

- Its a used WS Harness. Market value is a few hundred at best
- ISR is a used turbo. BNIB price is about 579. Used market is about 300. EDIT: There is a 3871 for sale RIGHT NOW in the marketplace for 200 shipped. The 3871R will go for about 300
- Dyno tune 1-3K is absolutely outrageous. Nistune market value is a few hundred. Dyno time 3-500.

Read above. Street price on Nismo injectors used is about 3-400. If off brand, 1-150. These are all used, with unknown history, parts.

Its either a Nistune or enthalpy (unless Enthalpy did the tuning).

1K is cheap. Even if it has a spun bearing, part it all out for a little over 1K.

Meh, your choice.

you're looking at it as if buying everything used, i was looking at it as if OP would have to buy it all new. same idea, different perspectives

i did say depending on ECU, that implies the cost of the ECU is included in my estimate. I figured about $500 for the actual dyno time/tuning, and then from $500 for something like a Nistune, up to $2500 for something like an Infinity or Elite. Hence, the $1k-$3k range.

He has both a empathy tune and a nistune

And no spun bearing run's good went to a drift event last weekend and rode with him

And everyone calm down so it's worth about 3k if he posted it on here or where ever to sell it

that's all you had to say.
$1k is a smoking deal. you'd be dumb not to take it.
I'd say theres at least $3500-4k worth, if not more (I can't assess condition on the internet obviously)

WTF is empathy?? . Also my point is; even if the bottom end had a spun bearing (which it seemingly does not, atleast as far as you can tell) it would be worth more than 1K in parts alone. The fact that it runs (but since he drifted it, no telling how much longer), is an added bonus.

Spend the 1K. If you don't like it, part it out to all the vultures on this site.
