KA Leaking from behind Intake Mani/near the starter???????

Tonight my car shut off as I exited off the highway, temp was normal until i got to the exit so i turned on the heat and let the car coast. The car then turned off (due to being overheated or maybe a leak in the cooling system....may sound like a noob, idc) The steam seemed to be rising from under the intake mani near the starter. I had a previous problem but nothing this dramatic. A month prior the car left a puddle of coolant in a friends driveway. The coolant seemed to be coming from where my tranny bolts to my engine block?????? or perhaps leaked down from somewhere above. I'd like answers, if you insist on leaving douchebag comments, telling me to search around, dont bother leaving them. I have searched, I wouldn't be posting if I didnt search. Thank you.

i usually just replace everything that has to do with coolant around that area where it leaks like hoses and such to eliminate possibilities and chances of it leaking again, guessing its an old motor so replacing new hoses and coolant components wouldn't hurt, especially in the near future !

check the firewall. Look for heater core hoses.

Okay update. We cranked the car and coolant poored out of this area BEHIND/ABOVE these two hoses. We then tried to crank again with the radiator cap open, the water coming out of the rad smelt of gasoline. Please debunk my assumptions and tell me i did not blow motor.

Get your coolant leak fixed. Idle car with cap off. If you see bubbles you have a head gasket issue. You can buy a hydrocarbon test kit that will confirm whether or not you do indeed have a blown head gasket.

Those look like heater core hoses.

I can't tell where they go except down in this picture, if they both go directly back to the firewall, than they are your heater core lines and you can just replace them from that point to the wall. If they are leaking from the other side, meaning under the intake like I believe you said, that hose is all in little sections from hose to hard point and back to hose. You will have to follow it back by hand to find out which one to replace. Your best bet is to pull the entire intake off and replace all while you are there and save yourself from this happening again.
