kelly, keep in mind most brake systems aren;t designed for dot5 fluid... that stuff will actually eat away at the seals/lines in the brake system.

DOT 5.1 is a polyethylene glycol fluid and will work with DOT 3/4. It's boiling point is 518*F compared to DOT5's 500*F. I would be more concerned with the seals melting/swelling and blowing out or the res. melting.

i melted thru my bmc with a top mount, now i wrapped the bmc and a turbo blanket and im fine. Another solution would be a wilwood pedal assymbly which moves the master cylinders inside the car.
