Post Help with first car!

Im trying to buy a first track/tuner/ya know car. I would only need car for like track days and maybe to drive to school (since I can take a bus). Rwd or awd and manual is the only requirements.

My budget is 2500 for the initial car give or take a couple hundred. Then probably some for mods like coilovers ect. Ive worked with cars for a long time and ive learned a lot, but its time I learn on my own and start my own project.
BTW im new to the forums and want to get into the car scene. Im in SoCal if that helps.

no need to make a second thread

just explore the forum and read.
go to the reginal section to post so you can find tuners

go to the review sections of the forum so you can know what products are quality and what products are not.

go to the for sale section to find second hand products to save you money

dont let the dingo eat yo baby

Didn't they lock the other thread you made? Your budget is not gonna get you a track ready car and stop making new threads to ask what kind of car to get. You're old enough to make this decision for yourself. How about you try googling what are good track cars or someshit

You said in your other thread that your "mentor" bought a car for 3-3.5k (which is already out of your budget), then swapped an SR in it. Ask him how much the swap costs. Since you said you ride the bus, I can safely assume you don't have a daily driver. I strongly suggest you get something cheap and reliable as a daily, and wait to get a 240sx or sports car when you have a sports car budget.

If FWD is out of the question, I suggest getting a ranger or s10 to start with. They're relatively cheap to buy, insure and maintain... There are huge selections of aftermarket parts, most of which are cheaper than quality 240sx parts, and there are tons of them in junk yards that you can pull parts off of for cheap.

Example:
Beltech lowering kit for a ranger (2" front, 4" rear) is about $425
Good quality coilovers start in the $1000 range, plus suspension arm kits that start around $400.
